  • Specificity

Subtilisin from Bacillus subtilis. The reagents were evaluated for potency, purity and specificity using most or all of the following techniques: Immunoelectrophoresis, Cross-Immunoelectrophoresis, single Radial Immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony), block titration, ELISA, Immunoblotting and Enzyme Inhibition. Cross-reactivities against enzymes of other sources may occur but have not been determined.

    Purification

Ammonium Sulphate Precipitation and Ion Exchange Chromatography

    Immunogen

Subtilisin isolated and purified from Bacillus subtilis. Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.

    Isotype

    IgG

    For Research Use only
  • Reconstitution

Restore by adding 1 mL of sterile distilled water

    Concentration

    10.0 mg/mL

    Buffer

PBS, pH 7.2 without preservatives and foreign proteins

    Preservative

    Without preservative

    Storage

    4 °C/-20 °C

    Storage Comment

Store the antibody lyophilized at 2-8 °C and reconstituted at 2-8 °C for one week or (in aliquots) at -20 °C for longer. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation.

    Subtilisin

    Background

Subtilisin (serine endopeptidase) is a non-specific protease (a protein-digesting enzyme) initially obtained from Bacillus subtilis. Subtilisins belong to subtilases, a group of serine proteases that initiate the nucleophilic attack on the peptide (amide) bond through a serine residue at the active site. They are physically and chemically well-characterized enzymes. Subtilisins typically have molecular weights of about 20,000 to 45,000 dalton. They can be obtained from soil bacteria, for example, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens. Subtilisins are secreted in large amounts from many Bacillus species. Subtilisin is an extracellular alkaline serine protease, it catalyzes the hydrolysis of proteins and peptide amides.Synonyms: Subtilisin E, apr, aprA, aprE, sprE
